Organized and Federally recognized 1 April 1921 in the Iowa National Guard as the Band Section, Service Company, 134th Infantry, and element of the 34th Division, at Fairfield

Redesignated 11 July 1921 as the Band Section, Service Company, 133d Infantry, an element of the 34th Division

Reorganized and Designated 1 May 1940 as the Band, 133d Infantry

Inducted into Federal Service 10 February 1941 at Fairfield

(34th Division redesignated 1 May 1942 as the 34th Infantry Division)

Consolidated 1 August 1943 with the Band, 135th Infantry (Minnesota National Guard) and consolidated unit designated as the 34th Infantry Division Band

Inactivated 3 November 1945 at Camp Patrick Henry, Virginia

Iowa elements reorganized and Federally recognized 15 April 1947 as the 34th Infantry Division Band at Fairfield

Reorganized and redesignated 1 March 1963 as the 34th Army Band and relieved from assignment to the 34th Infantry Division
