The band’s history dates back to 2 Aug. 1943 when it was constituted in the Organized Reserves for the 95th Division – the storied “Iron Men of Metz” who among numerous combat achievements, were instrumental in the liberation of Metz, France during World War II. The 95th Division also holds campaign participation accolades in WWII from the Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace and Central Europe.

Since 1949 the band has been based in Oklahoma City, accomplishing the Army Band mission to instill the will among our forces to fight and win, foster the support of our citizens and promote our national interests at home and abroad. The 395th provides music support to seven states in the Southwest region, including Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California.

Formerly organized as the 95th Division Army Reserve Band, the band was reorganized and redesignated as the 395th Army Band in October 2009 under the 63rd Regional Support Command in California.

The 63rd Regional Support Command provides title 10 requirements to assigned down-trace units in order to be trained, equipped and prepared for all contingencies.
