On March 24th, the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan hosted a special concert for their staff featuring the 3rd Infantry Division’s acoustic rock band, Lo! Krawl. Ambassador Donald R. Yamamoto personally invited the group to Kabul and created an event specifically to showcase these musicians after having observed a performance of theirs in Bagram and seeing the acclaim they had been met with. The members of Lo! Krawl were both humbled and honored to oblige, becoming the first Army Band to perform at this venue.

Performing a variety of hits to include Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk”, Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer”, Zac Brown Band’s “Chicken Fried”, Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA”, and a mash-up of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” and “Style”, it was ensured that there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Following the performance, the group was met with nothing but praise. Ambassador Yamamoto recounted that it was,

“…an awesome performance of unparalleled excellence. Lo! Krawl brought such great joy and lifted spirits at the American Embassy during one of the best ever attended events that will be remembered for years to come. Lo! Krawl is forever etched in the annals of incredible performances and whose talented artists – Dana, Jovanny, Rachel, Bethany, Brian, Shannon and Adam – were gracious and engaging, truly the best of American’s top musical performances.”
